My least favorite of all are plumbers. It's not just that they charge $200 an hour, though there's that. But it's the way they do it.

and it's churlish of me not to approach the matter in a more forgiving spirit. But in 3 recent encounters with these rude mechanicals, one was a belligerent Bush supporter and the other two damaged my house. One backed his truck into it and tore off part of the sofit. The owners made good, but still; these lads seemed to display a certain lack of refinement, a neanderthal quality, set off piquantly by the obligatory visible butt crack. It's enough to make one aware that civilization is at best a very thin veneer.

The plumbers I know are nicer people than the ones you unfortunately encountered...
