Bob Dylan is my messiah. Today is the man's birthday.

Dylan's music made me believe in inspiration as a cosmic force. Through his songs, I found that a man's work could somehow be larger than himself; that something undefinable lay between the writer's pen and the finished product, and that hazy, unknowable thing was surely greater than man.

And so, when nothing else could, when faith seemed like something I could never approximate and religion seemed like a con game, Bob Dylan gave me hope that there is a God.
