Esfahan is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The history of that city goes back even longer. But Shah Abbas sure picked a nice spot for his capital.

8. It is one of the biggest squares in the world
according to Wiki the square is 160 meters wide by 560 meters long (an area of 89,600 m2). I don't know how many people fit in there. A lot I'd say :)

Esfahan has 1.6 million inhabitants. But I am sure there are fitting some thousand people on that place

how they built those mosques without the stuff we have today. And it is still standing.
