What is a nice, inexpensive, gift for a sponsor on her 30th sobriety birthday?
My sponsor will celebrate 30 years of sobriety this summer. She still attends at least 3 meetings a week, reads the meditations and BB every morning, sponsors several people, is active in other service work, etc. She is such a good mentor and friend for me, and I just adore her.

I'm not sure how to get some hints out of her without talking to her sponsor or husband behind her back.

Any suggestions?

1. Just a suggestion...
Whatever you decide to give her, attach a letter where you list the ways that having her as a mentor and friend has made a difference for you, because none of that would have happened had she not had found her own sobriety.

2. A plant...
I love getting plants. And I always remember who gave them to me.

7. I suppose a flask of Mad Dog 20/20 would be a REALLY bad idea.
Sorry, couldn't resist.

8. First, you are fortunate to have such a good sponsor and I am glad you have her.
I think a combination of the above ideas-the letter and a plant of some sort-would be ideal. Does she have a favorite house plant or even perenial outdoor plant?

Have a fine time, Missy...You are doing great.

9. Personally, I think there is nothing wrong to asking her sponsor or husband behind her back
for suggestions.

10. HERE'S THE PLAN
After some discussion the decision was made to just call her and see what she would like. We will probably have a lunch or coffee with all her sponsees. She'd like her daughters invited. She is mulling over whether she'd like to have the spouses/SO's included. (Might be a lot more fun with just us gals)

In the meantime we (her "pigeons") will plan the other details. I very much like the idea above of each of us writing out a nice note to her explaining how much we appreciate her.

woot!

11. Honor her with true stories of your gratitude and love for her.
Move her to her depths and it will be the gift which always keeps on giving.

Congratulations to the both of you :hi:
