1. WHAT!!!!!!?
they block out the Indy somewhere? WTF are they thinking? How could anyone be affected by the race being on TV?

Kanan is moving, Franchiti looks strong, Danica no where to be seen....

3. The block out central Indiana
as if it were on tv folks wouldn't go to the race....

Sarah and Danica are both invisible.

9. Back in the day it was blacked out as far east as Dayton, Ohio.
I remember watching it in the evening, as I plan to do tonight. Right now I'm checking in every now and then on the radio.

5. Kanan from 33 to 7 in the first quarter of the race.
Edited on Sun May-30-10 01:38 PM by salin
Can he pull it off? Will he risk too much and make a mistake?

12. I'm watching (haven't missed an Indy 500 in over 30 years)
If Kanaan wins, it would be wonderful. Never happened before - 33rd starter to first place.

Is this the only Indy 500 thread today? I'm surprised at DU.

Actually, no I'm not.

8. I can't believe this
That is just unbelievable. Who in Indiana would skip going LIVE to the Indy "because I can see it on TV"?

11. 300,000 people in 90 degree weather?
There's no way in HELL I'd get anywhere within 10 miles of the track today. Not on your life.

13. Watch it here

You can watch almost any sporting event here, if you don't mind about a 1 minute delay.

15. so, considering the winner ran out of fuel before he completed lap 200 ...
... even though the yellow flew on lap 199 because of the crash, is he still the winner?

He didn't complete the requisite mileage ...

16. he came across the finish line 1st
but if Dan Weldon had caught him, he would have finished 2nd. It's funny that Dario Franchitti is Scottish with brougue and all.
