1. That's an artist for you
I can see it now. You will need other orange appliances to go with the fridge. Then you will need orange and white ceramic tile on the floor and on the walls over the counters. Light orange counters. Orange and white curtains. And chairs painted orange along with a table shaped and painted like an orange.

2. Don't give her any ideas!
And we already have red dining chairs and a red leather chair here, so the orange will be a nice addition. ;)

Oh, there's an orange curtain on the patio, too!

6. No, no, no! BLACK and WHITE checkerboard tiles on the floor!
I would LOVE it, but I'm afraid CMW is quite happy with our terra cotta tile floors. :(

Imagine, though, these tiles with that "juicy orange" fridge! :7

49. Try to find a nice efficient small fridge like that here in the states...
...and you'll pay out the kazoo.

Prices have come down on what are called "counter depth" units and I finally found one for around $800.

But typical American units are fucking huge, vulgar, things.

Not surprisingly.

That's a beaut!

54. To be honest,
This is the first brand-spankin' new fridge I've ever bought. All of the homes Yi've owned and places I've rented have had fridges at move in. But our current fridge has been on its last legs for ages, but the easily available fridges have beeb not energy efficient enough for us, too gargantuan for our needs, and/or way too "white goods" to go with the other stuff we have. Plus, I made a jillion phone calls this morning and got this model and color for CHF 700 lower than list price. Yes, I'm maddingly particular and neurotic. :D

64. There is actually something called the "color lobby" in the USA which
decides what the newest colors will be for kitchen appliances, cars and such. If they can get you to buy a 'way out' there color on your durable good they are guaranteed that you'll be back in a few years for a new item once that color is out of fashion and well before the item is past its prime.
