I have a question about the medicare savings program |
The state pays my medicare premiums and I have to re-apply every year. I slipped up and said I had a bank account and now the social worker wants to see the statement. I don't want the government to see what I have been purchasing. Is it acceptable to black out the purchases I don't want the state to see?

1. depends on what you are buying. It is for income verification of course |
showing what you put in is more pertinent that what you take out.
how much detail is on the bank statement anyway?

4. I had a nasty drinking problem |
and there are tons of transactions for the liqour store. I just don't think they need to see that

2. Our statements don't even show |
where our purchases were made. Just the check numbers and the amounts. Maybe the bank could run you one like that?

5. That's called a print out |
they won't accept those anymore, so the social worker said. I could get a printout and try that first before I hand over the statement.

6. It's none of their business what you buy |
or where. I would think the print-out would be sufficient for the info they need. I would check further into that before I hand it over.
