Did Led Zeppelin ever write a bad song?
Well Ozone Baby off of Coda sucked, but other than that they were perfection to me.

1. P. Diddy/Puff Daddy ruined Kashmir for me, and Jimmy Page helped.
Other than that, they're great.

2. Well, I will forgive the Kashmir thing, just because of that song.
If Puffy just kept his mits off it and Page did it as an instrumental, it would have been much better.

3. Some of the late seventies stuff on Presence or ITTOD is pretty bad
I used to be a huge Zephead, but now I can look on their albums with more objectivity. :D

8. I, too, have found objectivity
I used to worship Led Zepelin in high school. I think it had to do with the fact the Baptist fundies that I went to junior high school with passed out a book by some idiot, bumpkin preacher that cataloged the Satanic connections with a wide array of rock bands. Zep topped his stupid-ass list.

But now, I can only think of Fast Times At Ridgemont High when I hear Kashmir and Stairway to Heaven seems a bit melodramatic.

Plus, Dancing Days sux major balls.

18. D'yer Maker and '50s pop
Funny you should make that association, because it was actually Led Zep's attempt at reggae but it indeed does sound more like a doo-wop song from the '50s.

There aren't any Zep songs that I truly dislike, but "D'yer Maker" would probably be my nomination for worst Zep song just because of the fact that they tried to do reggae and failed miserably. And by the way, I actually like "Dancing Days."

Of course, considering I'm far more into indie rock and techno these days, I'm sure as hell not going to get into an argument over which Led Zep songs are cooler and which ones suck.

10. Dyer Maker SUCKS!
One of the most annoying songs ever recorded.

And to think that it became an FM staple!

Worse yet is Sheryl Crow's cover.:puke:

11. It makes me sad/angry
That an entire generation is now going to associate the song "Rock and Roll" with friggin Cadillacs. :grr:

19. Maybe 2 or 3 but that's it.
Zeppelin were as close to perfection as anyone has ever come. 5 "perfect" albums and the rest were near perfect.

20. I'm not sure how controversial this will be, but....
In a previous post I said there aren't any Led Zep tunes I truly dislike. Wrong! The one Led Zep song that I actually do dislike is "Stairway to Heaven." It is a long, overblown and just plain FUCKING BORING SONG!

As for my favorite Zep songs, if you care, I'd say "The Rover," "Living Loving Maid" and "What Is And What Should Never Be."

23. Misty Mountain Hop could possibly be the worst song
ever written. It sounds as if they were DELIBERATELY trying to make a bad song- the melody is just FUCKED UP. I hate it.

That and the Crunge. All their other songs are at least pretty good.
