Point me to the right forum--
in "My DU"--what does it mean if you can't view the parent thread of the thread you posted in when you view your own posts in "My DU"? I've been here long enough that I think I should know what it means, but I don't exactly know where to go for the answer.

1. My dear vixengrl...
I think it means that the the thread is missing, that it has been deleted.

If I'm understanding what you're asking...

Am I?

2. If I click on the original post, it still exists as a thread.
I only see a blank when I view "My DU". So I think the thread still exists, only for some reason it doesn't show as the "Original thread". It's very weird.

((Peggy))

I've started a poetry blog here: http://strangelyworded.blogspot.com/

I'm trying to capture my muse on-line. I think about your poems here in the Lounge sometimes and I realize how flexible I find blogging ( just like posting here) is for submitting my thoughts, etc. It's a neat thing to realize, after being on-line all this time, that self-publishing at least satisfies my need to get something "out". It helps me write more, anyway. And that is kind of what I need to do.

4. Maybe the thread was moved?
I don't know. I can't really visualize it, sorry!

And speaking of poems! I just posted one...

I'll check out your blog. Your ideas sound really good.

3. every once in a while there is a hiccup
and you can't get to a thread from "my DU" or even from the post you made, even though you can find the thread in the forum it was posted, or by a search of somebody else who posted/subject line

otherwise it got deleted, or your reply did - although those usually disappear from "my DU" altogether

5. I've had that happen occasionally - either the line is blank, or the date/time
entry is in the 'parent thread' column, or the post doesn't make it to 'My DU' at all. I think it just means that there's a bug or a glitch somewhere, it's not really a signal to the poster of anything in particular.

if it happens a lot I'm sure the admins would want to know, but there's probably a log of 'hiccup' events for them to keep track of that stuff...

9. That's what I was worried about--
I don't have anyone on "ignore" because I just can't ignore people. I was actually kind of worried someone had me on "ignore", which would have made me kind of sad because I don't post a lot, and I'd be freaked if what little I did post convinced someone I was a nuisance.

8. Are there quotation marks in your subject line...
...or the subject line of the OP?

Sometimes one or the other gets disappeared from my list seemingly because of those.

I've gone to the apostrophe instead of quotation marks for subject lines and it seems to have fixed it for me.

10. OMG--there are quotation marks in the OP subject line!
I've seen this before but never made a correlation! That kind of helps me feel less weirded-out by seeing it.

I think I'll do the ' ' thing, too, to avoid a problem.

That was awesomely observant and helpful--
