My arthritis medication has stopped working- 10 minutes into my last infusion my body reacted to it and put me in danger, so I can never use it again. They tried another, the result of which was a series of life-threatening infections. I'm about to try one last variation- if it doesn't work (and if I survive) I'm afraid it's pain medication, nostrums, and a wheel chair from then on.
Damn.

Oh, NO.
You won't be able to work, or to walk your sister's dog...
Oh, I hope the last variation works. You are too young, way too young for such a fate...

2. I've been dealing with the pain since I was 34 |
|
It didn't beat me then and it won't beat me now.
I guarantee it.

I am very sorry to hear this. I have barely been able to move since tuesday do to a gout flare up so I can sort of empathize.
Hoping you get some relief.

5. I read your thread, so you know I empathize with you. |

It really sucks when your body betrays you. This is the kind of pain I wouldn't wish on anyone.

6. And I've been complaining about my little back pain. |
|
I'm so sorry you have such pain. I hope the next variation works for you. Even in a wheelchair, life without pain is alot better than what you're experiencing now. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, Prisoner. Please keep us updated; I really want to know how you're doing. I've been known to pray every now and then.

I'll begin the new drug regimen some time next week- I'm just waiting for a sore throat to clear up before I begin.

9. From time to time, absolutely. |

It's an outstanding analgesic. But as a recovered alcoholic, it's a thin, thin line to walk. I enjoy it too much and fear it could become a substitute for booze.

10. Does your state have MMJ laws? |
|
You are more than legal on this. State laws allow for pain management.

11. The doc had me slated for a wheel chair by the time I was 50 |
|
And I discovered glucosamine and chondroitin and started taking it. 13 years later I am not pain free, but am still walking and exercising. Have you tried glucosamine and chondroitin? My doctor at the time told me it wouldn't work - it was a placebo. Thank god he retired.

I'm in a wheelchair 16 hours a day for the past year and a half. It can be a real pain in the ass!

I can't take any of the prescription arthritis meds because they mess with my stomach so I'm stuck with Vicodin. I keep it to 2 a day right now but I hate to think what things will be like as time goes by.
I hope this last variation works out for you. Good luck.
