My mom and I

She and her partner are in Paris right now. My mom turned 60 this year. My brother and I gave her (and her partner) as a present a week in Paris. She is sending me text messages daily. Seems like she loves it there :). It is their first time in Paris.

we were on the train, going to Schaffhausen, Switzerland to go on a boat to have a day trip upriver (River Rhein) till Konstanz.

It is in South Germany, at the border to Switzerland. In Schaffhausen is the only waterfall of the river Rhein. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhine_Falls
The river Rhein flows through the Lake Constance before it passes through Schaffhausen.

We took a boat that went from Schaffhausen upriver into the lower part of the lake. Very nice trip.

I like boat journeys, also.
Next month I am going into the mountains here to Yosemite and Sequoia. And some waterfalls, too.

37. I haven't decided on a dog yet

I need to wait until I get back to the house. There is a young little mutt dog being cared for right now by, I guess, foster owners. A lot of people take care of dogs until they can find them a permanent home to keep the critters out of the shelters. This little guy looks like a small chocolate lab with brown eyes, but he's some kind of Heinz 57 deal. Hopefully, he'll still be around when I'm ready to go visit him. My only worry is that he'll be too frisky and require more exercise than I can give him.

Yes, we had a great time. Even though it was early morning. We were on our way to a day trip at the Lake Constance (see in one of the posts above).
