The indignities that cats put up with
Edited on Thu Aug-12-10 02:20 PM by Sanity Claws
Last night, cats attended a birthday party for the Algonquin Hotel cat. Of course, they had to dress up for the occasion.

This link takes you to wonderful photos of cats dressed up in costume, many of them with the contemptuous gaze that cats are famous for. Make sure you check out Cleopatra Kitty and the Prince Kitty.

14. My cat would sip my arm off
He had fits when I tried to put a collar on him and he regularly chews on my ankles if he is not fed fast enough.

The concept of attempting to put a costume on him is terrifying!

6. Animal abuse. I just can't imagine people doing that. It seems so
ridiculous and self centered.

7. Those cats looked pissed off.
And those are supposed to be animal lovers who orchestrated the event and dressed up the cats?! There are other ways to raise money for the group, just as there are other ways to celebrate a cat's birthday.

9. I must admit I did have a tiny pair of antlers I was hoping to put on my ginger cat at christmas.
But I never got the two of them, antlers & cat, together in the same town at xmas.

12. I've been to the Algonquin--and seen the cat who was being feted.
She was lounging on a bell hop cart right by the front door of the lobby. Amazing.

She was not dressed in anything, either.

If looks could kill, we'd have a lot of dead cat owners and photographers right now.
