Went and saw "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" today. So awesome. So very awesome. |
|
So very, very, very awesome.
I think I'm going to need to see it again, just because of the sheer level of awesomeness.

1. After waiting so long for it, it totally didn't disappoint. |
|
Loved the casting, and how they used the art from the graphic novel in the film.
The only drawback for me is now having to deal with what will be a lifetime long insane crush on Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

2. Agreed. Definitely agreed. |
|
I've never read the graphic novels, but now they're on my reading list. Gotta get into the source material, too.

3. Audience in my theatre just lost it at the Universal logo at the start |
|
That certainly set the mood for the rest of the movie.

4. Same with the theatre I was in. |
|
There were definitely different levels of response to some of the stuff, which was very interesting - some people laughed at some stuff while others didn't, and vice versa.

5. How did you all feel about it taking place in Toronto? Cause it is the first time |
|
Toronto has actually starred in a movie even though many movies are made there. I'm just curious as a canadian if you felt you were watching a foreign film or whatnot.

6. I didn't feel like I was watching a foreign film... |
|
...I suppose in the same way that "Shaun of the Dead" doesn't really feel like a foreign film. Maybe it's because so many of the pop culture references are from such a broad spectrum that they just blended very well with the Canadian stuff, the American stuff, the Japanese stuff, so on and so forth. It didn't feel like I was watching a "foreign" film at all.
Not that Toronto is really all THAT foreign... :hide:

8. And so few people went to go see it! |
|
I was disappointed it only did $10.5 million at the box office. It was so much fun to watch, and you're right - it never lagged, not for a moment. I'm looking forward to seeing it again next weekend!
