I had never had marlin either- I love fish and just thought it was worth a try... It was very thick and strong tasting - quite good!
I made a marinade with soy, garlic, ginger and honey for em, and grilled em.

Supper vs. Dinner. My dad is from Alabama and he told me once that lunch was called supper and dinner was the end of the day meal. Maybe it's a regional or generational thing? Oh, and lunch/supper was always a big meal cuz they worked in the fields/farm from early in the morning. No pb&j for them.

I just can't do it. Too hot most of the year and I actually do a lot of the traditional "men's work" so I'm not here most mornings to be prepping some huge meal - the husband does a LOT of the cooking but he isn't going to do a big mid day meal either:rofl:

7. 2 packs of peanut butter crackers and a bottle of regular pepsi. |
|
I have been maintaining my blood sugar all day perfectly for the past month and a half. I've lost 19 pounds.
Supper is the lightest "meal" of the day, and the pepsi is to keep my insulin from causing my sugar to drop too low while I am sleeping.

wow! good job. I am working on getting a handle on the weight - had a bit of a scare earlier this summer. Are those the pb crackers that are "orange cheese" flavor? I confess to kind of liking those even though I don't care much for peanut butter otherwise (cookies excepted)
are you allowed/having any fresh vegetables or fruit?

13. I have all different kinds, and... |
|
I like the orange ones too.
They really are kind of a shit food, but for some reason, they really help me control my blood sugar. Probably the combo of carbs and fat and protein.
For breakfast I have low fat cottage cheese mixed with fruit.
For lunch, I will either have a huge chef's salad, or a big fish sandwich with all kinds of veggies, or some chicken and veggies.

That last item is an Emeril recipe from Organic Gardening. Homemade lavender-infused honey mixed with marscapone and blue cheese, stuffed in a trimmed black Mission fig and topped with a drizzle of honey. I skipped the lavender infusion and it still was absolutely delicious.

how does one do that? I so seldom have figs, that I tend to just eat them plain. Gophers killed my little tree shortly after it started producing enough to actually do more than eat the annual handful fresh picked.

Strain out the lavender. I forgot to mention that I also used light cream cheese instead of the marscapone too.
Planting a fig tree is on my wish list. There's a 60-year old Mission fig tree in front of a neighbor's house - unbelievable amount of fruit and the tree itself is beautiful.

seems like bacon and its delicious by-product - the grease, are pretty integral to German Potato Salad
I have a recipe for an Italian green bean and potato salad (cold or room temp)that is vegan and delicious - basically french cut green beans and boiled red potatoes in a viniagrette, but is is so good in its simplicity.

I think the sauerkraut helped spread out the flavor, considering, too, that the recipe called for 5# of potatoes and I only had 3# on hand.
I remember hot German potato salad with bacon when I ate meat, but I didn't miss it in this version :) I doubt I'll eat the leftovers cold though. Cold potatoes are fine in a standard mustard potato salad, but that's it.
