Poll question: What gets you out of bed in the morning?
What motivates you at the start of every day?

You may infer an "other" option by posting it.

Ever vigilant, especially just before mealtime, protecting the bed from the wily and elusive Bed Mice (my feet under the covers).

29. Ditto,
although my cat would just meow/whine louder and louder before really acting out if I don't feed him, spoiled rotten feline that he is.

39. mine purrs loudly while licking my forehead or hand, whichever is closer
It sucks, I moved last week and it's apparently messed up the cat's sleep cycle. Before I would actually wake up before her. Now, even though MY schedule hasn't changed, she's up and roaming earlier. She hasn't quite gotten used to the new surroundings, I don't think.

cardiac rehab means I have to work out, and the only time I can do it is 6 am,

before my three-year old wakes up!

So, I either run or hit the weights.

altho sometimes a conventional grenade will get me out of the sack, not always mind, but sometimes it will work...

in case you haven't figured it out, NOTHING gets me out of bed in the morning, i'm a strict "crack of noon" type person

these days if i get up by 1 PM i congrat myself and call it a beneficial side effect of jet lag

35. None of those -
Either it's the greyhound bitch barking to go out, or the whippet clawing me to get up so he can jump in bed and snuggle in the nice warm spot I've just vacated by sitting up, or the 8 year old asking what she can have for breakfast or the husband complaining that he's got something to do that requires my help and I should have known about it because he's been thinking really, really hard about it for the last 10 or so minutes. But to be honest usually it's knowing that I am the sole bread winner for the family and if I don't get up and go to work we don't eat.
