Need suggestions for appropriate TV shows/films for 3 and 4 year old girls
I'm expecting out-of-town visitors with young children. I'd like to have some appropriate shows or movies saved on the DVR but am clueless as to what is popular and appropriate for this age range.

Any suggestions?

1. Hard to go wrong with Elmo.
Kids love the Sesame Street. You can trust it isn't inappropriate.

3. Anything Madeline

I loved her and my daughter loved her. There's an animated series and a live-action film.

EDIT ADD: Best of all, her character comes from a most wonderful series of books:

7. Kipper
Trust. Gentle, loving, and witty to boot. I'm actually sorry that MG Jr. has outgrown this wonderful 'toon. There should be quite a few DVDs out there--we had a bunch and I was sad when we sold them at our last garage sale.

8. My daughter loves Dora
Strawberry Shortcake and Babar. She's 4

And she's hooked on "The Land Before Time" series, my sister gave her a stack of them on VHS tape she had from wen her daughter was little.

Oh, and really likes the classic Scooby Doo stuff. :)

11. Dora the Explorer, Ni Hao Kai Lan, Playhouse Disney
same show basically, only Dora teaches Spanish and Kai Lan teaches Chinese.

The Disney young kids lineup should be good, too. They're listed under Playhouse Disney: Handy Manny, Jungle Junction, Special Agent Oso, Imagination Movers and one or two others...
