What do you think of the color pink?
I hate most pinks. But I'm sure I'm not the only one. I can tolerate some hot pink, but only in small dosages, and the thought that baby girls are exposed to it for a very long time in their infancy is repugnant.

Why can't they choose some other color for babies instead, like green, yellow, purple, orange or some other such color?

To me, baby blue and baby pink are the worst of the bunch. Those pastel colors which have been around what seems like forever is depressing. Babies LIKE bright colors! They don't need dull and dingy color pastels, they need something filled with life and verve!

Paint rainbows on their walls! Buy baby blankets with many colors! Buy outfits with other rich color, so that a child can see the world as a place to explore and enjoy!

And I wish the rumor that girls love pink more than all the other colors would go away, and reflect the truth. Stop forcing pink on helpless children!

1. I have never cared much for pink, especially that really bright shade

perpetrated by the manufacturers of toys and clothing for young girls. It's kind of like they are brainwashing little girls to believe that all their stuff has to be pink.

3. Exactly!
And of course the inverse is also true--boys will grow up with mainly blues in their lives.

I think children should be exposed to all colors, and probably around the age of three, they will hone in on the color which will be their favorite for a long time. And I'll bet most of them will stay away from pink!

17. That is true
in many cases. Pink roses look to me, though, like immature red roses. Red is so positively oozing in emotion, and pink is just like a peck on the cheek!

5. I never bought my daughter pink clothes.
(We did get a lot of pink hand me downs, but, hey, they were free).

Pink makes me somewhat nauseous too. I never give pink baby clothes to little girl babies.

I painted/decorated her room in yellows, blues and greens, and her favorite color today (she's 10) is green.

15. Mine is green as well
Though it probably took me awhile to chose it. I was an outdoors kid, and I realised that "life" was green--trees, grass, etc., and I loved nature.

hot pink to some shade of green. I didn't mind them together, though.

11. I've known people who didn't like pink for a girl
who painted their nurseries other colors...like pale greens and yellows. No one says it HAS to be pink. It's not like a law or anything. LOL

12. I love pinks and corals as interior design colors. Pillows. Walls. Etc. Not on little girls.
Unless, of course, the little girl decides she wants to wear pink.

22. I can live with a few quick spots of pink
as long as the rest of the colors are present and everything is in balance.

I have been choosing my interior colors in a group of colors, as a theme. And most of the rooms tend to have some kind of green in them, someplace.

13. I oloe pink and buy stuff that is pink just so
no other guys will steal it from me! This works especially well with Bic lighters.

I used to hate the color but then I read in Cosmo that men who are not afraid of pink are in touch with their sexuality...I thought, hey that's me, I touch my sexuality!

14. Lil girl pink sucks. Bright as possible neon pink... thats a whole nuther storie, there.
When I used to do online gaming, that was my color. Bright neon pink and black, on the biggest bruiser character I could get. Imagine Juggernaut, then put him in jail stripes of black and neon pink. If ya ever run into that online, theres at least a reasonable chance thats me, although given how many online persons there are, I doubt I have managed a lock on the look.

I have a t-shirt in that color, though it has faded some. I would get another If I could find it. Or a Polo. Or anything light and breezy. I have a salmon colored collared shirt, but that's as close as Ive been able to come. At my size, put me in bright clothing, and I do NOT get lost in any crowd. Its handy for anyone searching for me.

20. I hate pink with a PASSION
Except maybe for hot pink, which I can tolerate. My favorite colors are green, purple, and blue. I don't plan on having any children, but if I were to ever have a little girl I would NOT be forcing pink upon her.. maybe purple, but not pink.

21. I like pink nail polish if my nails are short
When they're longer I go for mauve, blue, gray or duochromey colors.

Never had daughters, and my boys never chose to wear pink. But they aren't overly fond of blue either, except for jeans.

And I like Caspian Pink tomatoes. They're very nice.

25. It's a phase, it will pass. For many generations there was no real strict differentiation, and
prior to that, the colors were actually reversed. Pink was a boys color... bold. knights used red in their clothing because it was bright and bold and made blood less obvious - reds faded to pink. Blue was the color associated with the Virgin Mary.

At least that's what I've heard.

To answer your question, I don't have any particular problem with pink, it's just another color.

31. I like it. But I refused to wear it as a little girl. I like it
for home interiors, as well as clothes, but it has to be a good pink, not too "fluffy".

And I can tell you that if you're tired, or feeling a bit under the weather, or just need a visual pick-me-up, wearing pink, especially near your face (a softer pink, not a neon pink), will make you look 1000 times better. Get rid of black, grey, brown, or other dark and heavy colors like navy or purple near your face when you're tired or sick.
