I went surfing on the internets for a website I'd read was good to argue politics. I read the forums and there seemed to be good back and forth. So I thought to myself it would be fun to smack around a few Repubs.

So I join. They make you post on their "private" forums before you're allowed to go into the "public" forums. I'm thinking ok, this is a way to try and weed out the undesirables (although I saw some of them on the public forums). You're not able to access the private forums unless you're a member. Well now I know why...

It's like Stormfront on steroids, it actually makes Stormfront look mild and tame. Between the porn (including violent images) that's posted and the God awful racist posts...seriously I've never seen anything like this, and I've seen racism. And the anti-semites will not be out done by the racists.

I'm felt like :puke: then :argh: then :grr: and :cry: and :scared: . The level of violence that's fantasized about it is down right chilling.

There's not enough eye bleach and showers to get rid of how I feel right now.

I don't think I'll stray far from DU again. I missed you guys! :grouphug:

Daily Kos is good but I get lost there trying to follow a discussion. The Howard Dean forum was like the wild, wild west. The Kerry forum was nice but was singular in purpose and died soon after the 2004 election.

10. You could probably use a Xanax. I try to make it a point to not

click on anything that looks like it could possibly be negative on any news websites. I stay here and also search for positive sites. I know "they" say we need to see what's happening with the opposition but I'm way too chicken.:scared: I guess it's a good thing to realize that there is some quality dialogue on DU. With some of the in-fighting here, I think a lot of us need the contrast....good to have you here. :-)

Some people on the right you can reason with to a point. They're people like anyone else, with wants and fears and vulnerabilities, open as they can be to hearing other points of view that mystify them ordinarily. But there are a vast number of right wingers who are ignorant and mean and can't be reasoned with. They just have to have their noses rubbed in how wrong they are before you make any dent in them.

we got rid of some veterans, but the young guys look good. They *should* be fine. Getting rid of Adams and Colombo will hopefully decrease the penalties.

I would get so frustrated with that. Same guys, all the time. Last couple of seasons we really hurt ourselves with stupid mistakes.
