61. Glad you like it. A little back story
That particular piece hangs at the San Francisco Palace of the Legion of Honor. They have a great collection of Rodin as well as a fine collection of Minoan Pottery and what is really fun is that you can rent these little ear phone thingies and as you approach a piece of art you get a little spiel about that piece through the headset. Well, according to the museum, this particular piece was supposedly what passed for kiddie porn back in the day (Mid 1800's). The broken jug apparently symbolized "Lost innocence" and the water pump in the background, well, what can I say. All I know was when I first saw it I fell in love. The computer image does not even begin to do it justice. I have a framed print that I bought at the Museum hanging in my bathroom.

I really like this guy. He liked to paint nekkid women. I like nekkid women. Have since the first grade. I have a couple more copies of his work in my house. There is a copy of this

in my wife's bathroom. The original is in the National Museum of Art, Havana, Cuba. I also have copy of this

painted on tile and set in the wall behind my bath tub.

I was reminded of this painting a few minutes ago while listening to this delightful report from NPR's correspondant in France, Eleanor Beardsley -

Parisians Celebrate Revival Of Guinguettes

The 'guinguettes' she speaks of are restaurants that have been along the rivers outside of Paris for centuries, with music for dancing, good food to eat, and wine to drink.
