I'm about to drop $600 on a mirror, installed |
|
It's a west coast mirror, the large rectangular deals that you see on truck cabs, that's heated and remote controlled.
I was pulling out of a lot today that was really tight, had to back up a little and clipped the mirror on a gate post. Didn't do anything to the gate, but my mirror was fubar. This sucks. It's also costing me some down time. I have to get it fixed at a truck stop here in Califonia or risk going through a weigh station trying to get it fixed elsewhere. They're strict with trucks here in California, so I really didn't have much of a choice. It's a 40 minute ride to go get the part.
I guess that's the way it goes sometimes.

5. Yeah, I need some time at the house |

They really need to widen that gate exit, but I should have looked more closely at that side.

2. Replacement sosts are a bitch. Last summer, we had a water leak |
|
into one the headlights on Mrs R's Volvo S60. The dealer told us it would cost FIFTEEN HUNDRED DOLLARS to replace!
She screamed at the dealer and got the price down to $800.00.
But still, who the hell at Volvo thought that $1500 headlights were a good idea, and approved that "feature?"

6. Yeah, there's always DU if I have some down time |
|
The only thing that can make up for this is if they put that mirror on for free or if $600 magically appears in my wallet. :)
But such is life sometimes.

7. Just spent $1000 on auto repairs; that's the way it goes ALL the time! |
|
(Can't really complain; great old car, '93 Toyo wagon, VERY few repairs over the years, and still rolling.)
