Oy. What was I thinking? Every muscle in my body hurts today, I am way too tense for such a ride. Halfway through the ride it slows to a stop. Nephew says Thank God that's over. Of course it then goes backwards for another 3 years or so. I actually prayed for our safety saying God, my sister will hate me if he gets hurt, please protect his tiny little body. I was absolutely terrified. Never again. I am too old and too easily frightened. It was just too fast!

This summer has beat me up mentally, physically, spiritually and financially, can't wait for it to be over!

1. what kind of ride it that?
I remember the first time I ever cussed in front of my father - it was on a ride called the Round-Up - the big wheel you stand up in with your back to the wall then it spins around and lifts up horizontal as you are held in place by the centrifugal force.

found it:

4. The Flying Bobs!
http://www.flatrides.com/Ride%20Index%20Pages/flyingbobs.html

It has a circular, undulating track with cars that swing out. The one at Canobie Lake Park used to give wicked rides, it's been a long time since I've been there, and I think the ride is long gone.

10. That was one of the few of those rides I actually enjoyed...although I was a lot
younger then and didn't have a pacemaker...the biggest thrill I get now is driving to the grocery store, which can get scarey enough for me.

FWIW, Flying Bobs sounds like a great name for a band...thanks - I will steal it.

2. I felt similar on roller coasters last year...
what has happened to me? Used to love them. Now I can't handle them. I was praying my neck wasn't hurt, lol.

3. Let me recommend to you folks, when you visit Las Vegas, go to
the top of the Stratosphere and ride the rides up there. Far more fun. Photos are online.

5. Looks like the ride we used to go on
at the Ohio State Fair called the Himalayan. Sheesh! What a wild ride and sirens going off so loud. :wow:

6. I remember that ride
it has pictures of a bunch of 1970's skiers in really shitty clothes painted all over it. I've had some bad experiences on rides too. Almost fell out of the Peter Pan ride at Disneyland because the attendant didn't secure the bar. Another time I went to the Oktoberfest, got shit faced drunk and went on some rides and actually fell off of one from a pretty high distance from the ground. That was when I retired from that form of entertainment!

I hope you are feeling better soon, physically and all the other stuff too.

7. I love, love, love that ride! I did give up the scarier ones once I had kids, though. Every time I
flipped upside down I prayed to the heavens not to let my die and orphan my kids.

As it is, my family just doesn't get into the fair the way I did as a kid. We don't even go anymore. :( We're going to a rock show instead, which is also cool since rocks can be neat, but it's just not the same.

11. I went on a ride 3 years ago just to see if I could stand it because I have
ptsd. I couldn't stand it. I was in so much pain. That is the end of me and adrenalin. Though I may try skiing because I could stay on the baby hills. But yeah..life hits you and all of a sudden things are cut off from you.
