Not exactly "borrowed time" - how about "borrowed cranking amps"? |
|
I had to jump the 2000 Montana three times since Thursday. At first we thought my eldest had left the lights on for about half an hour, but it happened twice more, including right before my wife drove her to college 2 hours away. It made it there and back (with 16' cables along for the trip). I couldn't remember replacing it since we got the van in 2002 so I took in in to NTB when they opened this morning. Indeed, as I suspected, it was the original batter, a 550 cranking amp that registered a whopping 78 CRANKING AMPS when I got there!!! Now THAT's pushing it! I had a 750 put in so all is well now. But DAMN! I'm amazed that it started this morning without a jump.
