Another view of the bell tower (what is left of it)

A few more from the rest of Old Goa:

Some of my pics, from Old Goa, are blurry. I won't use a flash at historical sites,
since many flashes, over time, will actually fade old paintings.

Braganca House (built in the 16th century by the two Braganca brothers)
(here is a link if you'd like to read about it: http://mitaroygoahotel.com/2010/05/17/goan-heritage-braganca-house-in-chandor/

The woman in the pic is 91 years old. She lives in one half of the house by herself

This is from the outside:

The house had its own chapel. A priest would come to their house to conduct mass

Flora & Fauna

Betel nut

City scenes & misc

This man noticed my husband's sandel was torn & fixed it in 5 mins.
for 40 Rupees (.90)!

ceile, I asked my husband which hotel would be a good place for honeymooners. He suggested Fort Aguada Beach Resort.

1. My dear Haole Girl...
I think these are about the most beautiful pictures you have ever posted...

Just when I was thinking how gorgeous the building pics are, along comes that exquisite first flower! You have really outdone yourself...

The Artist's Eye...You have it.

Thanks for sharing!

Think I really should take my camera in for a professional cleaning. It's been through a lot... my husband even spilled a little bit of dal on it this trip.

30. I turned the PM function back on...
probably wont stay on, but write to me if you need to.

I can't keep my eyes open (jet lag), so don't worry if I don't write back tonight.

7. I love your pics!
Used to be there were only two countries that I felt compelled to visit before I die: Ireland and Japan. But, in the last few years, I've added India to that list. There's just something about the colors that calls me.

14. Thanks. Hope you get to go to India
There is some preparation involved, especially if you want to go into areas with heavy vegetation (the Japanese Encephalitis vaccine has to be given as a series). But it's worth it! :hi:

That said, apparently something's blocking me from seeing your photos...I'm at work. I'll mark this to take a gander later!

11. Is that you driving the red scooter?
Do you drive scooters in India? Traffic doesn't look too bad in those pictures.

18. Haha!
Um... no! I'm not sure I'd want to ride in that madness. I didn't take many pics of the really bad traffic, but believe me when I say it would take much more skill than I have to ride a bike through Goa! :hi:

Yeah, it got hot & humid quickly when the rain would stop (which wasn't very often). The weather has been crazy all over this year, it seems.
