Old is realizing . . .
. . . most of the screaming fans on Cheap Trick's Budokan version of "I Want You To Want Me" are in their late 40s-early 50s this year. :-(

were on the goal line.

And we liked it that way. :-)

17. Actually some 40+ years ago I used the cable tv box as a wired remote.
Instead of having it on top of the tv I kept it on the back of the couch so I wouldn't have to get up to change the channels. I even had a long cord so I could turn off the tv without having to get up in case I had fallen asleep and woke up to the test pattern.

Test pattern? Now there's another one.

19. It's probably more effective.
Our remote would always break . . . or the buttons would sink in and the contact destroyed.

I never saw the geometric test patterns. Ours were always the color pattern and the sine wave.

Oh, and speaking of which, that's another thing you never see anymore - a station that actually signs off. Even local stations go 24-7 now.

21. Actually my local CBS station has a 2nd channel that does go off the air for awhile.
Alas, no test pattern, but a live picture of the local radar.

Back in 1971 I had a small b&w tv that had a shutoff timer on it. It would confuse me because I would fall asleep watching tv and then wake up in the middle of the night and the room would be all dark. The last thing I would remember is the tv being on and then it was dark and it would take a few moments to clear the cobwebs from my head.

"Frampton Comes Alive"? Everybody in the world has Frampton Comes Alive. If you lived in the suburbs you were issued it. It came in the mail with samples of "Tide".

I can see metal bands touring the "old folks homes." in the not that distant future.

Picture a ninety year old in an electric wheel chair, colostomy bag hanging on the side...shouting "FREEIRD!"

You really don't think people change just because ...they have some years on them...do you?
