Question Re- How the Greatest Page Works

For purposes of making it to the Greatest Page and/or ranking once ON the Greatest Page, does the number of replies ("kicks") still matter?

I've had several DU'er's tell me it does; but looking at the page, nothing seems to get there w/o 5 recs, and the rankings seem to be strictly in order by number of recs.

I realize kicks may affect whether a thread is "on fire" within a particular forum; I'm just asking about what's on the Greatest Page and how it's ranked there.
