Finally got a Nook (Kindle next month). A review.
I have 500 books I loaded on to it. Been waiting a LONG time to get an ereader and worked enough OT to get one.

I have over 100 Stephen King Books/Stories, HP Lovecraft, Clive Barker, 100 + Dean Koontz ones, Lord of the rings, 65 Religious books (covering Japan to American Indians), Biography's, 85 History books, etc and so on.

So here is my simple review of it so far:

Negatives:
1. No zoom feature on PDF's (yet). I can convert any web page/doc to a PDF easily (and for free) but some of them show up on the nook rather small. No way to zoom in.

2. Folders. I can make folders on it and load my books, but it does not show my books in folders. Scrolling through 572 PDF's I have is a pain. Seriously B&N, get on the ball and let people view by the folders.

Pluses:
1. I can add an SD card and load in a ton of books/music/pictures (Kindle does not have that ability).

2. Games - Chess and Soduku. I love playing chess :)

General stuff:
I can add pics as backgrounds or screen savers (not always intuitive - Screen savers need a folder, Backgrounds don't). Screen refresh is a little slow.

Mp3's play well and are easy to access and load.

Still have not got the Wi-Fi to work with my network, which is open and requires no password (yeah, not real secure, but I know all my neighbors and none of them have wireless cards except my daughter). More than likely an issue with my own settings though, will work on that later.

Easy to read screen, nice feel, and look forward to reading many books on it.

Overall, I am happy with it and will get a lot of use from it. It can improve in some areas, but for the price and the ability to store so many books and songs it was worth the wait and overtime to finally get it.

*** If anyone wants to get some of the books I have let me know. I am still Downloading some. Most are in the public domain and not copyrighted. Some...well they might be but I did buy them at one time ;)
