Anyone have Betta Fish advice?

I got a female today. Have had a male for a while. They are not in the same tank yet but I've put her pet store pint size bowl right up next to his.

2. Are you planning to breed them?

If not, don't ever put them in the same tank. If you are, read up on exactly what to do and when to do it.

4. Never put them in the same bowl/tank...

the male will immediately attack and kill the female. Tried several times to make this combination work...it won't. Tried many times to provide hiding places just large enough for the female...male stood over the openings and kept her from feeding.
