1. My brother brought his kids' "hamster" here for Mom to watch for a while.
She refused to believe me when I told here it wasn't a hamster but a white rat. She's always hated rats. But Little Creature lives in her room and gets quality time every day. LOL

2. The rats my cat brings in out here are big nasty looking things.
This posting is 15 or so miles from me.

I cruise the 'wanted' section on craiglist every once in awhile.

3. Am I allowed to want chickens on craigslist?
We want some for eggs, not for meat -- no one here could possibly butcher anything. But, I think wanting them there might be against the tos.

7. Look in the Farm & Garden section
People are always selling chickens on there.

10. Farm and Garden in our area seems to be only landscaping services
hauling and pool cleaning. Maybe instead of checking San Jose, I need to look a little south where there is more open space.

4. A good friend of mine has rats as pets...these animals are awesome
extremely intelligent, alert...in some ways they are like dogs, only most people think of them as vermin.

Lots of them are domesticated and kept as pets; my friend had one that actually slept with him and he claimed the thing snored next to him! I've had contact with these rats, and I just think of them as big hamsters, only with more personality

6. I've had 2 rats as pets.. they are very cool, but short-lived.
There is no way I would keep a rat I had 'found'. My cat brings in some really scary sized rats. I can tell by the length of the tail (he eats most of the rest by the front door). I have yet to see him bring in a housepet type of rat.

Redwood City is closer to docks than we are.... I wonder what her kid brought home?

11. yeah rats are pretty cool
avoid males, for the smell part, but they are pretty smart. Smarter then those pointless blobs of uselessness called "hamsters"
