Sprang or sprung. Brain-fart on a Saturday evening. |
|
"He sprung from their hiding place."
or
"He sprang from their hiding place."
I'm editing a story for a friend, and I confess that I'm drawing a blank. I'm inclined to go with the latter, but I'm not 100% sure on it.
Thanks!

I think the latter is correct, too.
wouldn't it be "has sprung"...?

4. Yeah--that was my exact thought |

She's doing a lot of goofy stuff in past perfect tense that, frankly, isn't working. I'm trying to steer her toward simple past, and this might be a good example for highlighting her trouble.
Thanks!

I have no idea - what does a dictionary say?
I'm going to guess sprang.

"the past participle and a past tense of spring"
But I'm thinking that this means "sprung" as in "sprung a trap" rather than "sprung from their hiding place."
I'm sticking with sprang!

Present tense: The Na'vi sprang from the trees. Past tense: The Na'vi have sprung from the trees.
Sorry.
