1. Disclosure: I voted butterscotch, but half the batch I'm making now is raisin.
We have a mixed marriage.

4. Raisins in SOFT oatmeal cookies only. They are unwelcome guests in the crispy ones.

6. Yes, except slightly darker around the edges and on the "high points." Also, mine aren't cut from a
tube, so they're not perfectly round. But generally, yes.

12. Golden raisins stay moister!
My favorite Crispy Oatmeal cookie recipe. These come out thin much like the OP's picture.

1 cup butter
2 Tbsp. water
3 Tbsp. good maple syrup
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 1/2 cup oatmeal
1 cup golden raisins
1/4 cup sugar for rolling

Melt butter with water. Add syrup.
Sift dry ingredients, add oatmeal; mix thoroughly.
Combine butter mixture with dry ingredients.
Fold in raisins.
Chill for one hour.
Form into 1" balls and roll in sugar.
Place on ungreased cookie sheets and flatten slightly.
Bake at 350F for 14-17 minutes.
Remove from cookie sheets immediately. Cool on racks.
