Alien Prequel Details Revealed!
:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Last year it was announced that 20th Century Fox had hired Ridley Scott to direct a prequel to the classic sci-fi film Alien. At the time I believed that would never happen. Why would Scott return to film a prequel of one of the most popular sci-fi film franchises of all time? Why compete with yourself? Producing the film seems like a much safer bet. Who knows why, but Ridley Scott signed on to direct a prequel to Alien. We haven’t heard much about the project until now.

MTV spoke to the filmmaker about his new film Robin Hood and was able to uncover some details about this upcoming project. Scott says that the story has been decided, they are in their fourth draft, and that designers are already “working graphically on designs for the various requirements of the film.” In the next few weeks he’ll have to turn a ballpark budget figure to the studio, but Scott is adamant that the film is actually going to happen. What is the story about?

11. That version was poorly-edited trash.
Now, "Blade Runner: The Caterer's Cut" was freakin' awesome!

8. I remember listening to Scott's commentary on my Alien DVD...
and he talked about how he thought that Cameron's "Aliens" was a good sequel (albeit an action/adventure movie instead of horror), and that "Alien3" took Cameron's ending and pissed all over it, basically depriving it of any dramatic meaning. (I'm paraphrasing, it was a few years ago)

Then he went on to say that if he had to make another movie, that he would have found the story before Alien much more interesting than the after. Who is the Space Jockey? Where did he come from, and where was he going with a shipful of xenomorph eggs? And I just remember thinking that it was pure genius in it's simplicity, and wondering why nobody thought of that instead of doing those awful Alien3, Resurrection and Avs.P movies.

I'm just wondering how he's gonna shoehorn humans into his prequel.

12. I would love to see the script
I'm just wondering how he's gonna shoehorn humans into his prequel.Maybe there's some current human interaction/involvement with that species and the story is filled in as a flashback. But then it wouldn't really be a prequel.

Maybe time travel? Some humans get sent back in time, encounter the aliens and space jockey species and are never heard from again?

15. "Who is the Space Jockey?"

Well we know what he sounded like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_VnoLyrfdY
I'm hopeful it'll be good but one thing I do know, I'll be out $15 either way.

18. One critical scene was edited out of ALIEN, which changes about everything.
When Ripley was abandoning ship, she stumbles across what is left of Brett and Dallas. Remember that these first two victims were taken without lots of blood and gore? The Alien (somehow) used them as the raw stuff to create two Eggs (filled with a facehugger). This makes the Queen concept ludicrous, and a single Alien to be capable of destroying any number of beings it encounters. Which was why I was worried about Jones the cat having been someone compromised, and getting back on Earth (antics ensue). That of course didn't happen, and might have been more interesting than what did (mostly).

Okay, fanboy mode muted (it's never off). I can't find the original pic, which was in a poster for the film released shortly after the movie.

16. Interesting.
I have seen people post things I have said for their own benefit, not for the benefit of all people. I don't think people should be owned, nor should such thoughts be used for self. And appreciate those that share their expressions of many good thoughts for many people.

Nor should such thoughts be used for self gain.
