After more than a year of doing the supervisor job they tell me I'm not a supervisor. So all the time I spent doing store runs, training manuals, etc went out the window.
Tonight they called and asked me to come in and cover 3rd shift.
Gee...yeah, let me get right on that.

Believe me, I'm grateful I have a job. I've had this one for 24 years. I just don't appreciate feeling unappreciated after the work I've done for them.

I grew up around food service pros and I've never known anybody in hotel room/food/hospitality services who is dedicated to guest satisfaction as you seem to be based on your posts. I have this mantra I occasionally have to remind myself of and then I feel better:
The bastards don't deserve me, but without me the clients would be f*cked.
It might help you. As someone who had picky food needs and stays in hotels frequently, the guests appreciate the work.

I *do* love my job. I enjoy making people smile when I can.
Guess I just don't appreciate being made to feel like all the work and effort I've done (and the garbled message about my position) is worthless in their eyes.
