Anyone in a similar situation? All suggestions are welcome, although I'm not into reality shows at all.

1. I was in the exact position.
I counted on rewatching lost, but the finale undid the entire story line and I will never watch it again.

I don't watch anything now. I watch stand-up comedy on youtube.

6. A shame. Actually seasons 1-3 still hold up pretty good even with the answers spoiled
You catch a lot of surprises and a very few continuity errors (like how the French party died).

22. How did LOST undo itself? By pretending the island was a character and not a metaphor.
By establishing cultures past, present, and future who were motivated to sacrifice nearly anything to 'protect' the island and then relegating the island to some meaningless, unexplained metaphor.

28. I was responding to a question. It comes down to my perception of "good and bad" writing.
They got lazy, bought, or threatened.

32. I really liked the ending
Yeah, I would have done a few things slightly differently, but I haven't seen any other shows that managed to put together a narrative as well as LOST did.

2. I'm looking forward to Outlaw
It's a new show on NBC with Jimmy Smits as a Supreme Court Justice who leaves to practice private law. It looks like the latest attempt to get West Wing alums in a show together again. Hopefully this one fares better than Studio 60 did.

4. BBC Survivors
I have only one episode left to go (damn shit hell!) There are only two series for a total of 12 episodes, but it's really good. It's based on a series from the 80's, which I'll watch sometime.

It has something of the premise of Lost, with a bunch of people thrown together after a virus kills off most of the population.

8. Good "Lost" replacements are "Life on Mars" followed by "Ashes to Ashes"
Those are fantastic shows, imho.

"MI-5" (a.k.a. "Spooks") is a high quality show to fill the "24" void.

All three are BBC series, but between Netflix and other sources, they are accessible- and no commercials!

The only one coming back this year with new episodes is MI-5, but they are all excellent shows.

15. Glee
and Criminal Minds are the two I mainly watch. Work second shift so I don't get to watch a lot of primetime shows, either on network or cable. But I enjoy those two. Glee is fluff fun and Criminal Minds scares the heck out of me. Good stories.

21. Breaking Bad definitely seconded...
But I don't know if it will necessarily appeal to fans of LOST or 24. Those shows are both inferior in every way.

31. Season 2 definitely has a LOST-esque feel to it.
Especially with the way each episode opens with a clue that leads up to the bizarre finale.

25. Breaking Bad, Dexter, Weeds, Fringe
are about the only current shows I watch. Fringe will probably be closest to Lost or 24.

If you want similar shows from the past try The Adventures of Brisco County Jr (by Lost co-runner Carlton Cuse), Odyssey 5 (only ran one season on showtime - by 24 writer Manny Coto), Alias (also by JJ Abrams), Battlestar Galactica (the recent one), or The Shield.

Also The Wire, The Sopranos, Carnivale, Rome, and Deadwood were all excellent. It's hard to find good shows on network tv these days - chances are better with cable - chans like F/X, AMC, TNT, or their pay chans like HBO and Showtime.

37. I love Rubicon, but it's a terrible recommendation for someone coming from ADHD shows like 24
and Lost.

Rubicon is brilliant, but it requires a very patient and engaged viewer. Unlike 24 and Lost.

Also, check out "MI:5." It's like a British version of "24," but more cerebral and less action-packed.

39. Covert Affairs - decent action, good plots but not overly complex
And the star is much prettier that Jack Bauer. I tried to watch Rubicon, but it is something that must be WATCHED, not left on in the background while doing something else.

A replacement for Lost might be Haven, though I am beginning to lose interest as it's Stephen King roots are beginning to annoy me.

I have no idea what is coming this fall on network TV. There could be some good shows, I just have not checked the lineups yet.

40. Archer
may not be your cup of tea, but it's astonishing that FX can produce a quality show. Yeah, it's a cartoon comedy, with plenty of absurb stuff, but it holds up very well. Unusual for a network to have a decent original show...

I don't watch much drama anymore (stopped watching NCIS). I want to check out Chuck, though, because I'm a big fan of Yvonne Strahovski
