Do wild turkeys eat carrion?
I saw three huge birds eating some road kill. When I got closer (in the car) they flew off so I couldn't quite make out what they were. They were huge! They had wing tips like eagles and were the size of turkeys. The tips of their wing feathers were light.
I thought wild turkeys ate seeds, acorns, etc. And I didn't know they were such strong fliers. Anyone know what they could be?

4. You might also want to look up black vultures, depending on where you are |
|
They have the lighter color more toward the end of the wing rather than the back edge like a turkey vulture. But it's pretty likely to be one or the other. Or a crested caracara if you live way down in Texas...

and the flight attendant stopped him.
"Sorry, sir, only one carrion allowed."
