Regional dialect: "potatoes" |
|
"I'm making some baked potatoes".
Do you say "po-tay-da's"?
I do.

1. N'Awlins: "potatis salad". |
|
as quoted by John Kennedy Toole in his masterpiece "A Confederacy of Dunces".
One might even cook potatis salad on a "letrit range". :-)

-My SO's mother. I don't think it's a Maine thing though (I'm not originally from this area). I think it's just her. She's also says 'norf' instead of 'north'... She's a sweet little old lady so with her it's cute :-)

Spuds, mashers, blues (we grow those), bakers, home fries, tots, hash browns.
I usually stick with spuds.

"taters". I rarely say the whole word.
But if I do, "po-tay-da's" is what I say.

"Pass the WHAT?" ... ... ... ... ... ... . . .
