Well, we know the war in Iraq is really over

Republican Stepdad just took Mom on her annual adventure. She knows she's going away ahead of time, but he never tells her where until they're on their way to the airport (or in one case, cruise ship dock). He lets the rest of the family know the itinerary ahead of time, but swears us to secrecy.

Well, R.S. is one of those R's who believes that France had some sort of duty to support us in Iraq because we supported them in WWII. So he's never taken her to France on any of these trips, save for one brief stopover in Alsace.

Well, this year, they're in Paris! Mom's a VERY happy girl right about now. And although R.S. would never admit it (at least not to me :-) ), I suspect it has to do with Obama finally getting us the hell out of there.
