Testing...Trying to upload a pic.

I kept trying to copy and paste from my Windows 7 library w/no luck. So I then uploaded this pic from there to Flikr and somehow got it here. I think. It's appearing on DU preview as a link but maybe it will appear as an actual pic after I post? If not, can someone tell me what I need to do? I'm embarrassingly inept at this sort of thing. :blush: Everyone else seems to know how. :-(

BTW sorry guys. I'd test this in the Computer Help forum if I hadn't been there just yesterday w/another dumb computer issue. I don't post OPs very often so I hope you all won't mind my doing it this one time.

1. I'm not familiar with Flickr

Look for a direct link option maybe? If there is a share button on the page where you look at the picture, try to find a link that ends in .jpg

Someone here will know. Give it time if that didn't help :)

8. This may help - found on Flickr's help section

The plain URL (address dealy Chan790 and I mentioned) is all you need to make the picture show on DU. The note tosses in a munkeewrench hehe. I'm not sure how they follow up on linking externally.

You can get the URL of your own images on Flickr. To do this just click "Actions" and "View all sizes." You can then right-click to get the URL of the photo.

Note: Per our Terms of Use, whenever you place an image you're storing on Flickr on an external web site, you must also include a link back to Flickr.

6. The text is there because...

All that text is there to alter or format the picture in some way. DU code doesn't really let you do that...you just need the http:// address of the picture ending in .jpg or .gif or possibly .png.

That's all you need. Lose all the other code.
