Went to Blockbuster yesterday. Place was dead.
I went because the little vending machine at the grocery store next door had a very limited supply which I'd already gone through (for things of my tastes).

People behind the counter said hi, and it was nice, if not insincere. But it was nice to be greeted. I mean, if you want variety, tons and tons of vids there, the redbox type machine next door could never compete.

But I was surprised to see the place so dead as the weekend approached.

Anyway, I find an obscure (Romero) zombie flick and Pandorum, and another I really wanted to rent, which I'll go back for, called Pontypool (supposedly the best zombie flick in the last ten years, great reviews all over the net), but I put the last one back because my total for two was $10. Ten bucks for two movies. I do have until Tues to take them back, but I don't need that long, especially with Pandorum (gag).

Thing is, they tried hard to talk me into signing up for the Blockbuster equivalent of Netflix. Said it was just the same. I passed, maybe next time.

I just compared BB to Netflix, and while BB does have some movies Netflix doesn't, BB doesn't allow you to stream them for free, there's a per-movie fee. So I signed up for Netflix tonight. At first the selection seemed scant, but the more I plundered, the more there was. Hell, it's better than the redbox type deal, and I'd spend at least as much on that. I don't have a NF streaming capable device at the moment, other than the computer, but even just the mail thing seems like the best deal going. Soon enough I'll have a NF capable blue ray player (or a Roku) and I'll set my place up for wireless internet and then get the full experience. But at the moment, I can see why BB is going under. Even with the threat from NF and vending machines, they still charge crazy in-store amounts and rent per-movie for streaming. Why would anyone do that instead of NF? Other than the fact that BB has pontypool, and NF doesn't.

1. I looked at the movie in your post.

From the description that is not how it works.

You send the information for comprehension with what is said, but you key the note to some primer of information or situation, both the understanding and the information is in the spoken object, it just unlocks something they already have seen or know. So the information is in both places, and when in sync an unlock usually occurs.

You have to know what they know to unlock what they don't know they know.

The keying to a primer allows the same thing to carry many messages to many people based on where they are and how they think and feel on things.

For instance, a song can carry many different messages, then when a video is added more messages can be added, or keys to parts of a song, from the person putting together the video can be added.

So the part of the person you are in sync with, across the song and video, and the keys added, can add to how easy it is for someone to unlock.

Kicking a door in is when you don't bother to have a person unlock themselves, but just show them, where the info is unlocked before being seen, then that leads to unlocking what they already know without there information being part of it.

Sounds like that movie is about door kicking, not keys and locks.

I figure to show what people have been saying without people always knowing it, kicking in doors would be a good way to do that.

Loading a macro is a message that gets in, but is not seen by conscious mind, it can preload a person for an unlock at some later time. Although if people think and feel they can make sure only what they believe stays loaded.

Or something like that.

5. I went through that.
Made it past that. I have posted on that before.

That is a stage many go through, seeing desolation.

6. Maybe that's all there is. We're in a charade of sorts. The matrix, if you will...

Could talk for years on concepts of existence.

But really,

Is there beer and travel?

And

I don't make deals.

That solves most of those questions.

8. There is always beer. Travel? I'm so lacking in that department.
You travel to my town, and I will see to the beer.

11. I thought Blockbuster was already out of business.
RedBox and NetFlix just murdered Blockbuster, and BB is still in denial: "'Tis but a scratch!"

NetFlix is AMAZING. I have 200 Instant View titles lined up to watch; I just don't have time for them all--and some of the titles are TV series, so it'll take forever to go through them all.

For ten lousy bucks a month.

12. Nah, they're still hanging on at the moment.
Can't beat Netflix though. I gotta get my place wireless and buy a good blueray player, or a Roku, and then I can join the streaming fun. But I just signed up tonight for Netflix. Can't beat the deal. Only thing BB has going for it is the exclusive titles, and I'll be getting the one I want tomorrow. Other than that, bye bye BB.

13. Yeah, we had the Wii already. Thank goodness Netflix came along
because I was thinking the Wii was a huge waste of money, since my girls only play it a couple times a month. Then when I found out I can watch the Netflix movies on the TV, I felt better about shelling out the $ last Christmas.

14. I've had Netflix for a year or so now, and love it. Just ordered a Roku...
box and will love it even more. I'm going through the ENTIRE Avengers series' right now, including the Honor Blackman and John Rollason ones. When the Roku box shows up, it'll go a lot faster.

Less than 10 bucks a month and so far I've found maybe 2 or three shows or flicks I couldn't get.

16. I use my PS3 to stream Netflix movies and shows.
They sent me the disc for free and it's provided hours of entertainment. I've been watching a lot of shows I missed lately.
