Just back from HEB, they have real Dr.Pepper with sugar.
Something about 125 years of Dr. Pepper.

Happy Birthday Dr. Pepper.

I will need to ice some down for my trip tomorrow to Austin.

The farm and cattle are fine, everything on high ground.

Just need to check the the lower property by the creek.

Odd, the inner part of Texas was hit by a tropical storm and we felt very littlt of it Houston.

2. I think it is something like H.E.B.
I take my neighbors ladies shopping there.

These store is a still in a small building, not a super store.

Cool store, not sure what the HEB stands for.

Kroger and HEB are the major grocery store chains here.

4. I like the store.
I used to like Kroger but the damn store are to big now, all superstores.

There is a hugh HEB on the Katy Freeway, just huge.

I like our little store, better for the older people who can't walk so far.

10. The Dr. Pepper with sugar is so much better, even in cans.
That stuff is hard to find.

It just flys off the shelfs, that and Pepsi made with sugar.

13. Pepsi Throwback is good.
I wish it was in bottles.

Nothing like a icy cold Pepsi or Dr.Pepper in glass bottle.

14. They have Mexican Coke here in bottles.
But it's 12 oz. versus the 20 oz. Pepsi Throwback, and ironically more expensive.

20. I get Mexican Coke at the little neighborhood store but a lot of the big stores also carry it.
I bought the bottle of real coke and but it in the freezer for a hour or so.

I will not drink any soft drink without sugar now.

8. That was a weird storm.
The rain here was something. Fifteen inches in some places, in a day. One neighbor's rain gauge measured nine inches in a fairly short time during the worst of it. It tore up a lot of landscaping and roadwork along creeks and parks. Barton Springs was flooded to the top of the lifeguard stands. I've never seen a storm pass straight north through Austin like that before. Hope your property is alright.

9. Me to, hate to see my trees now.
The land is rather high and then slopes down to the creek.

My Aunt's land is the same way, so the water had a place to go.

She got a lot of rain, the cattle knew the storm was coming.

They moved from the creek to the barn area, smart cows.

We had only a little rain out of this in Houston, no wind to speak of.

It is odd to think that Austin other inner state areas would get hit like this.

That much rain would not have been good for Houston.

It would have been the big flood of 2001 all over again.

18. I am so jealous right now.
You lucky dog. Dr Pepper is my most favorite drink ever. I miss real sugar. Was it in the can or bottle? Was is as delightful as I imagine it would be?

I loved those old bottle Dr Peppers. Used to save them up and make a trip to the store, returning the bottles, to get another free Dr Pepper.

21. I have some the old bottles somewhere with the 10, 2 and 4 in the circle.
Edited on Sat Sep-11-10 08:08 PM by texanwitch
Kids could pick up a little pocket money picking bottles up and taking them back.

The Dr. Pepper I am drinking now is really good, just like the old days.

There was one 12 pack left and I took it.

I do prefer a bottle but I will take real Dr. Pepper any way I can.

I would have bought a least 3 12packs if possible, but I got the last one.

19. I have 5 cases of Dr pepper with sugar stashed
Every time I go to our small grocery store and see it on display, I buy most of what they have. It is very difficult to find here, so when I see it I take it.

has good food, and sushi!

BTW, It freaking poured in SA last week. Made it into the airport just an hour before the deluge!

24. Kroger has gone so upscale I don't really like to go there anymore.
The little HEB store by house just feels friendly, nothing fancy.

I got some great babyback ribs last week, they were good.

23. I bought some 2 liter bottles of Dr. Pepper today. 99 cents with a 44 cent coupon on each bottle.
Now that was a good deal.

I remember buying the bottles of Dr. Pepper with the 10-2-4 on it when I was a kid. Back then having a bottle of soda was a treat.

I once had to go to the walk-in clinic and the doctor was, yes, Dr. Pepper. I didn't bother saying anything because she was probably in her 50s and had heard it all by then.

I bet she has heard every joke possible about her name.

I drank to many soft drinks as a kid but I burned of the sugar playing.
