1. Monster and Twilight (the kitten). When I brought twilight home I wasn't
sure how Monster would react so I put twilight underneath an overturned laundry basket so she would be safe. He was kinda sniffing a bit at first but then couldn't resist her crazy kitten play.

3. My son and
his new adoptive son in their hotel room, right after leaving the hospital. The baby is 3 weeks old now. What a doll! Can hardly wait to meet him and hold him! My son and his wife have another adoptive son too. The new baby is African American and their older son is biracial. They're a wonderful family, very happy and loving.

43. This is Sunday Girl.
I hope these pictures show up right.

This is Sunday Girl back in 1992. She was bottle fed from about 3 days old.

This is Sunday Girl in her early adult years:

(My aunt always insists this picture could win contests, even though it was my lousy picture taking skills. The long thing in the picture is one of her most favorite fetching toys, a drinking straw.)

This is Sunday Girl doing her Halloween pose. She does this when I am playing with her. I will hold my hands out to her like I am going to come get here. She'll do this pose, then come chase me and swat at my ankles. I love it when she chases me.

This is a picture of Sunday Girl from earlier this summer:

(The long creepy looking thing growing out of her right forearm is some sort of protein thing they vet said. He said it was nothing to worry about unless it gets in her way, which it normally doesn't. At least she doesn't act like it does. It grows out long like that, then falls off and starts over again. She's always had that, since she was still a kitten.)
Sunday Girl will be 18 in early October. My aunt and I are praying for some more years with her. She's been with me for almost half my life now. She's like a daughter to me and is the smartest cat I have ever met.

45. This is Yogi.
Here is Yogi making a mess out of my stack of crossword puzzles:

(He is always into everything, then gives you that look so you won't get mad. It's impossible to get mad at him.)

Here he is playing Peek-a-Boo from inside my book bag from college:

Here is Yogi posing for a picture while laying in Sunday Girl's bed:

(They've had that "bed," which is an old cardboard box from a wall clock, since the early 90s. How it holds up and stays together, I don't know.)

Here is Yogi from earlier this summer:

He is 8 years old now.

...and, yes, a real character. One of his most endearing traits, besides being very, very friendly and good natured, is that he is also very well behaved, in that, he has never clawed any of my furniture (he doesn't even jump up on the furniture, unless it is the few pieces we've allowed him on), and he has very good litterbox habits (meaning he doesn't go anywhere he should not).

He was born to a feral or stray cat in an industrial area of downtown Los Angeles, and one day he came right into the factory where I was working, and made friends with my co-worker and myself. For about a month or so, we would take turns bringing him home on the weekends, but I finally decided to bring him home and keep him, one of the best decisions I've ever made.

My girlfriend and I love him a lot!

Ooops! Edited to correct a mistaken animal attribution.

33. Both are lab mixes
Hobie - the strawberry blonde - is yellow lab / golden retriever (and weighed in at his last vet appointment at 102 pounds - he, like his human, is now on a diet) and Baja is black lab / chow (and weighs 85 pounds).

They are the biggest, snuggliest, wanna-be-lap-babies you will ever meet.

Baja (my black lab / chow) is TERRIFIED of thunderstorms. He tries to fit all 85 pounds of himself onto my lap; whining and shaking like Armageddon is upon us. He had a rough early life (he was horribly abused by the (cough) "humans" who had him first, and after he was taken from them & placed in the shelter he was mauled by another dog - he still had awful scabs on the back of his neck when I brought him home) and has made GREAT progress (ex: he will actually play with other dogs at the dog park now -- when he first came to live with me, he would spend the whole trip hiding behind my legs and growling at anybody who came near him), but there are some fears he will never lose.

Edit: fixed spelling error

51. My girl Madimi
I went through a bad breakup in '06. (Meaning, I got dumped and thrown out of our shared place after 6 years together).

I managed to survive living alone in a tiny one-bedroom place for, like, a year. Awful. I missed my ex like hell - but I missed having a cat even more.

So a year later, I adopted my lady:

(the human woman in this picture is my mom.)
