My Orphan Kittens Didn't Make It
:(

We tried, but they were just too weak and small to make it.

2. So sorry -
You and your family did a good thing; they at least had some comfort and love even though they couldn't make it.

Taking care of animal orphans that young tends to be heartbreaking; be they kittens, squirrels, fledgelings, puppies or 'possums. There's usually only a 10-15% survival rate within the first few weeks.

6. I'm so sorry
You and your family did your best. I hope your daughter is okay, I know you'd mentioned that she'd been very upset when the first baby had passed. Sometimes these things are just too hard to overcome, and the babes were warm and loved when they left. So many aren't.

Take care.

32. The girls named them after fictional characters they like
so I'm not sure I can spell the names right. The first one to die was Azzanadra, after 4 days. The second one was Sasuke, who died after 6 days.

You did a great thing, though, by caring for them while they were here. People who help and protect animals are some of the finest people on Earth, imo.

14. I'm so sorry.
I too have tried to save orphan kitties. Sometimes I've succeeded and other times I haven't, but I have never given up trying.

That you lost the kitties is heartbreaking. I'm so sorry.

18. I will say it again:
The kitties died warm and fed and surrounded by love, not alone and scared and in pain. That means a helluva lot. Please tell your daughter that, okay?

22. Her name was Michigan
Our neighbor's white long hair was named Michigan.

She died defending her litter from a pack of dogs.

The babies survived, but she died.

It's been over 40 years, but I still remember.

Your story just reminded me of her.

23. Oh no. I'm so sorry.
I've said this before and I'll say it again: I believe that if there is a Heaven and if humans get into it, it'll be by the testimony of animals. You did your best, and you gave them at least a short period of love and security. There'll be a bunch of little voices speaking up for you and your family.

24. I talked to a lady who used to foster litters of kittens. So many of the really young ones died that
she requested that she only get older kittens to foster. It just took so much out of her. Sorry for you. You did all that you could do.

30. I am so sorry, sweetie.
Thank you for giving it your best. At least they were warm, comfie and had food in their bellies for that short time rather than being abandoned and unloved.

Give the girls a hug.
