I have three simple questions for this evening |
|
Question 1: Do you know what a variable-frequency drive is?
Question 2: Do you know how to fix one?
And Question 3: If the answer to Question 2 is yes, how fast can you get here?

1. I'd never heard of one before, but I just skimmed the wikipedia page, so |
|
yeah - I'm totally sure I could fix one of those. Pretty sure you just have to stick a screwdriver in there and wiggle it around a bit...

2. I'm sure there's duct tape involved, too. |

3. We got it running yesterday |

The company that made our press sent the man who designed the electronics on it to fix it.
This was weird...on Saturday the 3000-amp main breaker in our production facility tripped. You remember the scene in Jurassic Park where Laura Dern had to use both hands to switch on a breaker? This is one size down from that one. Anyway, when we turned it back on everything in the building came back to life EXCEPT for the three VFDs that run the press motors. Power was going in, but it wasn't going out and we didn't know why. Fortunately, they were able to send us The Guy and get them running again.
