I did the Mug/Cake thing
Sorry, no pics because I eated it and it was yum.

There's tons of recipes on teh Interwebs but I did the thing where I mix a box of cake mix with a box of pudding mix then dump a half cup of the mix mix in a stoneware coffee mug that's been oiled. Add a tablespoon of water, a tablespoon of cooking oil and an egg. Stir it up nice and smooth and pop IT in the microwave for two-three minutes and hazzah! CAKE!

Just enough for one old lady and I got a ziplock bag full of future servings. Wheee!

1. Weird. My wife just got one of those at work as a birthday gift. It is all dry ingredients.
Do you have to oil the mug?

2. Well
I've read recipes that suggest using spray-on oil stuff. It's so the cake doesn't stick to the sides of the mug.

Fact is, I used margarine instead of oil and melted it in the mug before I added the other ingredients, then swirled it around to coat the mug. It slid out super easy and as I said, it was yum. :hi:

3. Yeah
That same recipe also suggested that you could also add a tablespoon of powdered eggs and add an extra tablespoon of water.

Here it is:

Like I said, there's bunches of other recipes. A lot of them require flour, cocoa powder, sugar and blah, blah. That's when I looked for recipes that called for store-bought cake mix. I'm not much for baking and I rarely buy flour.

4. It had some wet ingredients you mix together first and then add to the dry ingredients before nuking
She'll probably try it this weekend.

By the way, her birthday was Saturday and her main gifts were Lego sets (mostly the castle-themed ones). She's still a little kid at 47. Of course, she's also a kindergarten teacher and has a degree in early childhood and elementary ed as well as a masters in el. ed.

I love her, but hey, we've only been together since '84 so we're just getting started.

6. I'm thinking a little more than a "squish", but thanks.

And yes, she is wonderful.
