Eagles Michael Vick will probably start their game Sunday against the Lions... |
|
QB Kevin Kolb had a concussion.
It will be Vick's first start in ove 4 years.

I know, it's not nice, but I really don't care at this point.

2. I wish I followed football... |
|
...so I could boycott Vick and the Eagles. An unrepentant (as far as I can tell) animal torturer ought not to stay that rich, before or after "serving his time," but scarier still are the hordes of people eager to celebrate him.
I guess that if I were persuaded he'd shown remorse and atoned, I'd be joining them.

5. I didn't think much of Vick as a QB before his arrest and conviction. |
|
I think a lot less of him now, and I am not happy that he is an Eagle. The team pretty much lost me when they got rid of McNabb, especially when they were arrogant or stupid enough to trade him to Washington...
FWIW, the Eagles - Vick in command - lost their first game this season, their first loss at home to the Packers since the 1960's.
Reddskins, also at home, and led by McNabb, managed to beat the Cowboys and looked better than many
thought they would.
So who got the best of that deal?

The Redskins had no offensive touchdowns. McNabb was 15 for 32, 5.3 yards per attempt.
The Cowboys handed the game to them.
All the same, congrats Washington. We'll meet again.

8. They didn't have no offense though |
|
they got into the red zone quite a few times. Actually Washington really should have won that game handily. Missed several opportunities. And if I recall, McNabb made no glaring mistakes. Can't say that for Romo.

18. Compared to past Washington teams, maybe, but they sucked in real terms. |
|
They had four drives across the fifty. One of them was one yard across the fifty. Six of their 10 drives went 15 yards or less. Four of them went four yards or less.
Six of the Cowboys 10 drives went past midfield. Only three of them were under 25 yards, including the idiotic fumble at halftime.
The Cowboys averaged 32.7 yards a drive (counting the idiotic fumble play), Washington 23.4 yards.
McNabb finished with the 26th best QB rating of Week One. Romo had the 12th best. To be fair, Matt Schaub had the 25th best, and his team beat the Colts, whose QB had the 4th best rating, so it's not the best measure. :)
The Cowboys sucked Sunday. I mean, they sucked. They had no offensive line (three of their four starters from last year were gone), they have Roy Williams (God only knows why--he's so bad I keep expecting the Eagles or Raiders to sign him). They were just awful in every way you can imagine.
And Washington was worse. I wouldn't blame that on McNabb, but to say anything nice about their offense, except maybe that Clinton Portis can run as hard as his mouth, is... well, not accurate. Although, again, to be fair, the Cowboys have a much better defense than Washington, so DC had more excuse than Dallas for having low numbers.
Right now the Giants should be very happy. Their division looks like a Christmas present right now. Of course, all three of their rivals could get drastically better by the end of the season. I doubt any of them could get worse.

10. An ugly win is still a win, and McNabb is a real improvement for Washington... |
|
I still can't believe they traded him to a division team...I am hoping that the Skins beat Philly in Philly just to do it...I'm looking forward to it.

I figure that if Vick is going to make that big money anyway (douchebag assclown that he is) I'd rather he was on the field getting the shit beat out of him by very large, angry men.

he would be sacked even more now than he was then...He was a good QB, too bad they never gave him a really good team.
