2. You stole my thunder. I love the Tell-Tale Heart.
The conscience is a very powerful thing.

Second favorite would be the Masque of the Red Death. You can't outrun the plague, although you arrogantly think you can.

3. The concept of Karma is a great thing.
In part, if that concept is real, as I believe it is, then I am going to have many good times, beer and travel money.

Although I view Karma differently, that concept is really going to work out well for me. Although the flaw in Karma is putting the reward/punishment completely on the actions of people. The concept of their being justice in the world I believe in, and with what I believe, defends the corrections in my situation also.

4. "The Cask Of Amontillado." A rich asshole takes revenge on another rich asshole...
...and gets away with it.

Cool!

I played Montresor in a local community production of 'Amontillado' a number of years ago...

17. I'll second that!
I had read a number or Poe's stories but none gave me the "willies" like that one did. It was one of those things that had me sleeping with the light on for a few days.

But I also like "William Wilson." Doppelgangers fascinate me.

It's all good, but that one stands out to me. One day I'll investigate why. :)

11. The Tell Tale Heart
We read it in class in the the 8th or 9th grade. Wow. We were shocked at Poe's story. It's almost 30 years later but I remember reading the story and what it was about. Now that is impact.
