10 wayward garden gnomes found on Montana trail

HELENA, Mont. (AP) - Helena police are looking for the homes of 10 wayward gnomes found on a Mount Helena trail.

Police Chief Troy McGee says the gnomes were found Monday evening on a popular hiking trail on the city's south side.

The gnomes are believed to be stolen, but apparently their owners haven't reported them missing.

McGee tells the Independent Record that police contacted residents who have recently reported their garden decorations stolen and have not been able to find any matches.

4. I always wanted to swipe one of those little burro's pulling a wagon from someones yard...

and take it all over the country. I would take pictures of it and send them back to the owners with notes that say "Having a great time here in Sequoia National Park AND I'M NEVER COMING BACK!"

I got to some pretty cool places when I was driving tractor trailers in the Indy Car circuit in the 1990's and I could have taken that little guy to Vancouver, Toronto, Big Sur, Miami....all over the place.

Then mysteriously, late one night, the burro would re-appear at its home with a little note that said "I got homesick" but the wagon would be covered with stickers from all over the country.


Never did that though.
