28. it's true
I personally don't care if chili has beans or not, but if you talk to a chili purist (especially in TX), they'll tell you that real chili doesn't have beans.

person who wrote that, not to say that anyone who ate chili WITH beans were mutants

Had minor surgery today. It was painful, but necessary. It hurts now, but I know I'll feel a thousand times better later on, so I'm just laying here in bed, bandaged up and trying to be patient.

44. Pretty bottom shelf ($4.50 or so, even at Albertson's!) but really quite drinkable
Blackstone rings a bell - in a positive way - but it's been a while. It's pretty amazing to me how many good wines are in that <$10 (or even <$6) window; I can taste the difference when I do go up the scale, but it rarely seems necessary to. (Usually when I buy a more expensive wine it's to avoid disappointing a snobbier associate...) :)

48. Also a totally good price. My go-to for a middle range merlot is Chumeia
Not well known (I don't think anyway, not out of the area) so it seems exotic, totally affordable, and really really good...

42. I'm nursing the hangover from last night's Great American Beer Festival.
It was so much fun - drank lots of good beer, tried some new ones (including one called "TPS Report"), and met some new people. All in all great weekend.
