Very important baseball question |
|
When will Ichiro break 200 hits? (Right now he's at 193.)
When he does it, this will be his 10th consecutive 200-hit season, and it will tie Bettin' Pete Rose for Most 200-Hit Seasons. (And Rose didn't do it consecutively.)

1. Here's another question |
|
If you count Ichiro's hits in Japan, does he have a shot at Rose's career hits record.

2. I think he's got a shot even without them |
|
Pete Rose got 4,256 hits over a 24-year career.
Ichiro is 52 percent of the way there (2,223 hits) and he's in his 10th MLB season.
Ichiro's average production is 223 per year, if you assume this year's completely over which it almost is. He should break Rose's record in 2020 or 2021, and he should still be playing then.

3. He is almost 37 years old now |
|
Even if he is playing in 10 years, he likely will have slowed down and will not be producing 200+ hits/year by that age.
