PHOTOS: Ronnie James Dio's Encino Estate On The Market - $3.3 Million

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/09/22/ronnie-james-dios-encino-_n_733464.html

Via Curbed LA: Heavy metal musician Ronnie James Dio died of stomach cancer in May, and his Encino home has just been put on the market this week for $3.333 million. The home has five bedrooms and five bathrooms, over 5,000 square feet of living space, and was built in the style of an English manor. Usually listings like to boast about how new all the appliances are, but this one highlights antique features: "200 year old wood from France, pub bar from the Kings Arms in Chiqwell Essex, England c. 1820, & custom stained antique windows from the 18th & 19th centuries." Don't forget the antique cathedral windows in the master bedroom, circa 1790! As is befitting a rock legend, it also comes equipped with a custom music studio.

1. Safe passage to Ronnie James Dio.
And I guess 3.3 millions is not this expensive for this ... But :shudder: dummy books in Victorian style? Look at the chairs in the kitchen! I like wood, but that's definitely not my style.

2. Ha! I always knew Dio had good taste (except that kitchen - what a shitpile that is)
Seriously, what's up with the kitchen? Everything else looks quite old-school and wonderful and then the up comes the kitchen looking like the worst of the artless midwest permed-hair hausfrau aesthetic.

8. looks like the 70s- I have similar looking (but cheaper I suspect) wood in my
kitchen...

are you calling me an artless haus-frau? :hide: Actually I'm an arty, educated semi-haus frau! (seriously the kitchen we have came with the house...)

3. Those look like law books in the study
The left bunch look like the NYC codes.

Was Ronnie a part-time attorney?

4. Not sure when he would have gone to law school.
He was a professional musician since he was a teenager in the late 1950's.

Look up "Ronnie Dio and the Prophets" on YouTube.

5. I've heard that song. Amazing talent, that guy had.
He was one of a kind.

Maybe he just liked how the law books looked.
