2. I think deep-fried deep-fry oil is the best.
Face it, someone will figure out how to make it eventually. If there's a way to make Americans fatter, someone will find the way.

Deep-fried beer-battered beer-batter on a deep-fried beer-batter stick.

3. The deep fried mashed potatoes could be worth a look
And maybe the garbage burger if I knew what it was. The rest just seems like gimmicky madness...

4. I wonder why they didn't have those
Deep fried Twinkies with Chocolate and Bacon, like they featured at the Los Angeles County Fair, surely that had to be a contestant in their photo display.

12. I once prepared a similar item from the Better Homes & Gardens "Low Cost Cooking" cookbook...
...it was "Savory Scotch Meat Laves." Ground beef, egg, bread crumbs, onion, green pepper wrapped around a hard-boiled egg, topped with a sauce made from ketchup, water, vinegar, chili powder, and oregano.

Not sure how close that is to the "Scotch Egg" recipe other than concept.

Not bad...but not an "Oh my God, I need to make this every week" thing either.

:toast:
